Model United Nations
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations working sessions in which students act as ambassadors. Each participant represents a different Country and is required to respect faithfully the assigned country’s values and interests. The aim is to negotiate and obtain the approval of documents (resolutions) that favor the assigned Country, taking into account public interest. It’s a cooperative competition in which participants interact on matters of international politics.

Pursuant to L.107/15 on work-related learning, the MUN Consules program for schools enriches the curriculum of the participants with learning by doing activities that are functional to university orientation and to the admission in an Italian and an international work context.
MUN programs for university students are created to complete academic training. The participants will take part in complex simulations of the UN committees and agencies. The participants will improve their knowledge of multilateral organizations, they will improve their negotiation techniques and their ability to interact in a professional context.

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is a global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating more than 100 national United Nations Associations. The aim of WFUNA is to strengthen and improve the United Nations through the engagement of people with a global mindset and who support international cooperation. WIFUNA’s main headquarters are based at One UN Plaza in New York City and at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The International Model United Nations Association (IMUNA) is an American nonprofit organization affiliated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI). Founded in 1979, IMUNA is dedicated to promoting global education through Model United Nations. Its programs are aimed at teaching participants excellent communication and decision-making skills through negotiation activities that promote the power of compromise and consensus.
IMUNA’s headquarters are in New York City, USA.
UNA-USA, United Nations Association
The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) is a nonprofit organization part of the United Nations Foundation. Its mission is to inspire and mobilize civil society through educational programs and events aimed at supporting the principles and work of the United Nations. UNA-USA promotes constructive United States Leadership in order to achieve the goals of the United Nations Charter. UNA-USA’s headquarters are in New York, USA.
The Lebanese American University is a private higher education institution. It operates under a charter from the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Its mission is civil engagement, the education of the whole person towards academic excellence and the formation of leaders in a world in constant evolution. NCCA – NMUN
The National Collegiate Conference Association (NCCA), now officially known as NMUN, is an American nonprofit organization. Its roots go back to 1927 when the first Model simulation in history was organized at Syracuse University. It was a simulation of what was then called the League of Nations, organization nowadays replaced by the United Nations. NMUN organizes its activities in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) and is a member of UN Academic Impact. NMUN’s headquarters are in Minneapolis, USA.
Harvard WorldMUN is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 at Harvard University. Its aim is to promote the values of the United Nations through a Model United Nations that every year is held in a different location around the world. Defined by the New York Times as the “Olympics of Model United Nations”, Harvard WorldMUN is an organization distinguished by a strong spirit of cooperation and it represents Harvard University in the World. Harvard WorldMUN’s headquartes are in Cambridge, USA, at Harvard University.
The United Nations Youth Association Network (UNYANET) is the international umbrella organization of UN student associations. Set up under art. 60 of the Swiss Civil Code, it has dozens of national member organizations in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, in addition to more than 20000 individual members. UNYANET has partnerships with the United Nations Information Services in Geneva and Vienna and the United Nations Department of Public Information in New York.
